My Grandfather The Spy

My Grandfather The Spy

Synopsis

An extraordinary true story of espionage and cover-ups, from the quiet beginnings of the Welsh Valleys to a world of jewel heists, jet set double agents and Cold War intrigue.

Desperate to break a wall of silence surrounding his family history, filmmaker Dave Evans embarks on a mission to uncover the truth behind his grandfather’s frequent mysterious trips behind the Iron Curtain during the ‘70s and ‘80s.

With few leads from his tight-lipped parents and only a box full of home movies as a clue, he sets out in pursuit of the glamorous young dissident that his Grandad helped spirit out of Communist Bulgaria.

His investigations take him on an astonishing journey right into the heart of Cold War paranoia and a labyrinth of closely guarded family secrets.
